For almost 14 years, I have taken my two dogs to Planco Veterinary care and I always felt to be a place of comfort, reassurance and most of all dedication to the well being of my dogs. Dr. Planco was always available either in person or by phone and his medical advice and care always in the best interest of the animals. Even in the most difficult situation, he has demonstrated compassion not only towards my animals but also towards me, the owner. Paws 4 Liberty, a not-for-profit service dog placement organization, entrusts the care of all its animals to Planco Veterinary Care. I brought two 14-week-old puppies in last week, and they hardly noticed their puppy shots because they were so busy scrambling for the biscuits kindly placed for them on their floor. The facility was clean, our wait time was short, and all staff members were exceedingly kind. Everything that might make a dog apprehensive about a veterinary visit was absent at Dr. Planco’s. Dr. Planco recently took over the care of my 10 year old Ragdoll and successfully treated her previously undiagnosed asthma. He even had a compounding pharmacy formulate a liquid medication because of her aversion to swallowing pills. I have just added two Napoleon kittens to my family and am confident that they are receiving the highest level of care from Dr. Planco. Dear Dr. Planco,

We just want to “thank you” for going above and beyond last night with our pet emergency. We don’t know what we would have done if you had turned your back on us just because it was a Sunday evening and the fact that we had never even been a patient of yours yet.

For your readers a little insight on what happened. About 6 weeks ago we relocated to this area not knowing a sole or having a vet yet for our 2 dogs. We had taken them out for their walks and came home and gave them their usual 2 treats. My husband noticed something strange with the oldest dog and went to check on her and she has passed away. With no where to turn I called Dr Planco’s emergency phone and he told us to meet him at the office in 10 minutes. His professionalism and sympathy to the situation was like none other. He made a very sad situation bearable and we will be a patient of his as long as we have pets.

Thanks again for the kind of Doctor that you obviously are!

Dr. Planco saved our beloved Lab’s life. She had suffered for over a year from a mystery illness that our vets in Chicago could not diagnose after repeated visits. When we were in Wellington, she became desperately ill, and he saw her immediately. He diagnosed her problem by looking at the blood work done by our vets in Chicago- information they had, and missed.

He did not take advantage, and re-order expensive work. He used what we had. It has taken a while to get her back to health because she was so ill, but Cookie is doing well. She has gone from a skinny, scraggly, miserable feeling dog to a healthy, happy girl with this amazing soft puppy fur that has replaced the brittle, patchy mess her coat had become. Even knowing we were only in town a short time, he treated Cookie with patience and care, as if we had been long time patients.

He saved Cookie, and we are forever grateful.
